How to make Spicy Button Mushrooms
Step 1 Prepare the mushrooms
To prepare this delicious side dish, first, wash the mushrooms thoroughly under running water and dry them on a kitchen napkin or tea towel. Note that you should not soak the mushrooms in water as they tend to absorb water and become soggy. Cut them into slices.
Step 2 Chop the other vegetables
Cut the capsicum into small pieces as well. Also roughly chop the ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Roughly chop the tomatoes and onions. Put them all aside.
Step 3 Grind to make a paste
Take the jar of a grinder and add ginger, green chilies, and garlic to it. Grind this mixture until it turns into a coarse paste. Transfer to a bowl. Grind the tomatoes and onions to a paste in a similar way and transfer it to another bowl.
Step 4 Have the cumin seeds sprinkled
Put a pan on medium heat and heat a little oil in it. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then add the coarse paste made of garlic, ginger, and green chilies to the pan and mix well. Let this mixture simmer for a while.
Step 5 Add onions and tomatoes
Now add onions and tomato paste to the pan as well and fry them well till they are cooked. Add spices like red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder. Mix everything well once more.
Step 6 Let the sauce boil
Let the sauce cook until the oil starts to release from the sides. Once this is done, add the previously chopped mushrooms to the pan along with the capsicum or green pepper. Let them cook for a few minutes.
Step 7 Add water and spices
Add some water to the pan along with a seasoning of salt. Mix well and cover the pan. Let it cook until the mushrooms are cooked.
Step 8 Add fresh cream
Remove the lid and add some fresh cream and mix everything. Let the vegetable dish cook for a few more minutes. Now add kasoori methi and mix well. Remove the pan from the heat.
