How to Fry an Egg
A completely fried egg is no secret – it just takes practice to achieve success.
Complete Fried Eggs? Be Delicate
I have an egg rule: When you cook eggs, go over the eggs. Eggs are soft and suitable for tender treatment.
The method I will describe is giving you the side eggs that are well cooked in the sun, with soft shells that ask to be topped with toast, and white cooked but firm and fluffy.
How to make fried eggs, in short
The fried egg cooks on low heat with a lid on the pan for about 2 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and cook for another 30 seconds (the lid is still open) to finish cooking over the remaining heat.
That’s all there is to it!

- Best Pans of Fried Eggs
Any pan of any material is ready to fry eggs! If you are worried about sticky eggs or do not want to use too much butter, choose a nonstick skillet or cast iron skillet. Stainless steel boats are fine, but be sure to use an extra teaspoon or two of butter.
A small, 8-inch skillet will take two eggs. To get more eggs, use a large skillet. The method and time are always the same.
Don’t Forget the Door!
The lid is the key to this low-temperature approach; ensures that the egg will cook evenly.
If the egg is in the pan, immediately put it on the lid. The lid captures heat and steam from the egg and helps it cook both down and up.
Without a lid, the bottom cooks very quickly and the top takes longer, so it is possible to keep the egg white highly cooked, and firm during hatching.
Use Low Temperature to Fry Eggs
- The low heat will cook the eggs gently and evenly to perfection. If the pan is too hot, then the bottom cooks faster while the top is always hot and green.
- Once the egg is ripe, remove it from the heat. Leave the lid and let the egg finish cooking in the remaining heat of the pan; this keeps the egg from cooking too much at direct heat.
Butter or Egg Fry Oil?
- You can cook egg or butter or oil; it depends entirely on your personal preferences.
- If you like the taste of butter, go for it. Olive oil is a healthy and delicious choice, especially if you are adding a delicious meal, ratatouille, or egg-based pasta.
How much butter or oil can you use? Use 1 teaspoon of butter or olive oil per egg when using a well-fitted nonstick skillet or cast iron skillet. Use two teaspoons of butter or oil when using a stainless steel skillet.
How to Cook Fried Eggs
The total time to cook an egg using this method is between 3 and 4 minutes. Much depends on the exact temperature of your burner and how well your pan conducts heat.
But no worries! Just inspect the fried egg after 90 seconds. If all but a small piece of white egg around the yolk is opaque, remove the pan from the heat to finish cooking with a lid.
If you like your eggs with hard shells, leave them in the heat until they ripen the way you like them. You could also store a thin layer of boiled egg white to cover the sun’s rays.
How to Make Fried Eggs Very Easily
- This method is for those who prefer soft shells with no trace of shiny egg white.
- Once the egg has been cooked in the sun, just fry the egg in the pan for about ten seconds to cook on top of the egg. Medium or very hard, add a few seconds.
- An egg-laying technique on top of eggs is easy to use with a small spatula. Smooth directly under the yolk, which is a heavy part of the egg. Once you have a spatula on the area under the yolk, flip the egg and let it cook for 10 to 15 seconds.
- Also, place the spatula directly on the bottom of the pan, remove the egg from the pan, and turn it on the plate so that it is right at the top.
Prepare Your Plate!
Prepare plates, toast, bacon, etc. before you start cooking the egg (s): As the eggs are cooked for a few minutes, cook the bacon first, then press down on the toaster while the egg is cooking. Have the right plates and wait.
Eggs Are Not Just For Breakfast
Ask any egg lover: Eggs are not just for breakfast! Who doesn’t love an egg sandwich or avocado bread stuffed with an egg for lunch? Dinner alone can make a quick and satisfying dinner with egg over cooked vegetables, and peppers.
Fried eggs are also home to a simple bowl of pasta topped with olive oil, Parmesan, and plenty of pepper. You can take an egg from the fridge to the plate in about four minutes. That’s what I call quick and easy!
